Understanding Autism and Maladaptive Behavior

For Adoptive, Foster, Kinship and Guardian Parents

Join the Post Adoption Resource Center (PARC) team for a time of learning and exploring autism. This FREE online training will be held January 19, 2022 from 6:30pm-8:00pm. Q&A will be held until 8:30pm.

Topics Include:

  • Defining autism/signs/symptoms
  • How to get a diagnosis/evaluation
  • General supports/strategies for children with autism
  • What is Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA)
  • How to access resources and treatment
  • Q & A

Trainers include:

Sarah DeLand, BCBA, LBA, LMSW. Sarah received her bachelor’s degree in Human Development and Social Relations from Kalamazoo College and her master’s degree in social work from the University of Michigan. She also completed the coursework for her BCBA (Board Certified Behavior Analyst) certification through the University of Massachusetts. She is a Licensed Behavior Analyst in the State of Michigan, as well as a Licensed Master’s Level Social Worker.

Melissa Wilson, BCBA, LBA. Melissa received her bachelor’s degree in Psychological Sciences with a concentration in Human Services from Albion College and her master’s degree in Applied Behavior Analysis (with an emphasis in Autism) from Ball State University. She is also a Licensed Behavior Analyst in the State of Michigan.
