Each appointment includes a review of the child’s history and a physical exam with an emphasis on the phenotypic characteristics that can result from prenatal alcohol exposure. In addition, children will receive a neuropsychological evaluation to evaluate the neurocognitive and behavioral profile of children with suspected FASD. Patients will also have a coordinated assessment with Pediatric Genetics on the same day to evaluate potential genetic factors that may contribute to the child’s developmental and behavioral presentation. The appointment will take approximately five hours total with a break in between the different parts.  Based on the FASD, neuropsychological and genetics evaluations diagnostic impressions will be provided at the appointment; however, diagnosis, referrals and recommendations for continued care will be provided during a feedback visit. This will allow for the doctor to review results from the neuropsychological evaluation.
